Dangdut Cowboys at 'Konser Dangdut Mendunia'

American dangdut rock band Dangdut Cowboys was among the performers at nationally televised 'Konser Dangdut Mendunia' in Jakarta, Indonesia. The show featured the country’s dangdut superstars, such as Via Vallen, Soneta Band, and Rhoma Irama.

Dangdut Cowboys is a Pittsburgh-based band founded in 2007 by Fulbrighter and the University of Pittsburgh Ethnomusicology Professor Andrew Weintraub. The group has been performing top dangdut songs at concerts across Indonesia as a way to promote the country’s signature music while expressing America’s spirit of cultural diversity.
